Importing a Codebook

You can import a pre-existing codebook into LibreQDA using the button intended for that purpose in the Project tab. The only accepted format is .csv, with the codes organized on each line with their metadata in columns.

If necessary, you can export a codebook to reuse the format. The following table shows what columns are expected.

tagdescriptioncolor parentnumber of highlights
A codeTo be used when xyz
#e66100
Another codeUse this code instead when xyz and pqr#5ab598 A code
......... ...

Advanced use

Experiment with importing existing codebooks to accelerate the processes of defining a hierarchical structure among codes, assigning colours or adding descriptions.

After creating a few codes, export a .csv file of your codebook (see Exporting), make the desired changes and then re-import it into your project. Do not change the titles of the columns.
