Committee for Orientation and Development (COD)
The development of digital research tools presents challenges that require more than good faith to resolve. On the one hand, research software specialists generally lack detailed knowledge regarding the theories and paradigms underlying qualitative research methods. On the other, qualitative research teams aren’t able to translate their specific needs into technical systems that respect best practices in software development.
In the interest of bringing these two worlds together, LibreQDA wishes to institutionalize grounded mechanisms to guide its growth. A Committee for Orientation and Development (COD) has been formed and meets at regular intervals. It is currently composed of:
- François Claveau, Département de philosophie et d'éthique appliquée (UdeS)
- Olivier Champagne-Poirier, Département de communications (UdeS)
- Anne-Marie Tougas, Département de psychoéducation (UdeS)
Like the scientific committees within various organizations (granting agencies, public bodies, NPOs, etc.), the COD draws on its expertise and takes the community’s pulse to makes recommendations to guide the software’s broad orientations and outreach.
